WE Will See You Tomorrow!
“Will see you tomorrow” said a whispered, familiar voice in the final Namaste of class. I breathed in my sweat and thought did she say “Will see you tomorrow” or We’ll see you tomorrow”?
All day long I thought of this whisper…a commitment, a promise to me and for me. A promise of tomorrow. A commitment to another 90 minutes of shared meditation… an acknowledgement of my, of our practice together. A recognition of a WE and a WILL.
I felt and feel grateful for this passing comment. It got me to class today…on a Sunday. Not my unusual schedule. But she wasn’t there. Green mat on my left side in orange top and black shorts.
Terrible I do not know her name. After all we do this challenging, intense and intimate practice together practically in our underwear! I know her face. I know her space, and I know her grace. Next I see her I will know her name.
We should all know each other’s names. Not everyone does what we do. This takes a WILL- a minimum 2 hour commitment. I am proud of everyone who shows up. I am proud of myself for sticking with it at age 60. There are plenty of excuses to keep us from our good intentions…but we show up!
We are a “WE”…a collective breath and movement in every class. There is something special, something unique something extraordinary in us that WE do Bikram.
I invite you to be a whisper in the Namaste for someone.
